FAQ

Common questions, answered.

The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you're hoping to gain, and how we might work together. It's also an opportunity for you to ask questions and decide whether the approach feels right for you — there's no pressure to commit to anything straight away.
There's no fixed number of sessions. Some people come for a short time to focus on a particular issue; others continue longer-term for deeper reflection and growth. We'll review your progress together as we go, making sure the pace and focus feel right and supportive for you.
Yes. All sessions currently take place online via a secure, encrypted video platform. This allows you to meet from wherever you feel most comfortable, while ensuring your privacy and confidentiality are fully protected.

Yes. Confidentiality is central to therapy, and what you share stays between us. However, there are rare situations where I have a legal or ethical duty to act — including:

  • If there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, including risk of suicide
  • If you disclose involvement in serious criminal acts such as terrorism or drug trafficking
  • If there are concerns about the safety of a child or vulnerable adult

Wherever possible, I will discuss my concerns with you before taking any action. My practice follows the BACP Ethical Framework and all relevant UK legal requirements.

Therapy can help with many areas of life — anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, relationship difficulties, and challenges with self-esteem. I also work with grief and bereavement, difficult life transitions, and past experiences that still feel unresolved. If something feels important to you, it's welcome in therapy. You don't have to fit into a category to seek support.
I work with both individuals and people seeking relationship therapy. Alongside couples, I also support other important relationships — parent and adult child, siblings, friends, or other close connections. Relationship therapy provides a safe, respectful space to explore communication patterns, strengthen understanding, and work through conflict or distance.
Feeling nervous is entirely normal — starting therapy takes courage. My role is to hold space for you calmly and without judgment. You can come exactly as you are, and we'll move at a pace that feels right for you. The free consultation is a low-pressure way to see how it feels before committing to anything.
Yes. All sessions are offered online, and I welcome clients based in the UK and internationally. My practice is governed by UK professional and data protection standards (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). For clients based outside the UK, we discuss practical considerations such as time zones, emergency contacts, and local support to ensure therapy is offered safely and appropriately.
Once we agree to work together, you book sessions directly with me. Payment is requested at least 24 hours in advance to confirm your appointment. Secure payment details will be shared at that stage. If you'd like to start, the easiest first step is to get in touch via the contact form.
